“Every Champion was once a Contender that Refused to Give Up!” ~ Rocky Balboa
When was the last time your life gave you a whole lot of attitude and kicked you to your knees? Maybe you were so overwhelmed by the weight of the world that it was a daily struggle to get yourself out of bed, resisting the fact that you had to carry this weight indefinitely.
I'd be lying to you if I said that I never have down moments, and that it's all rainbows and lollipops, but the sad truth is that life will never take it easy on you. A really powerful quote that puts this into perspective is, “The problem is not that we have problems, the real problem is in believing that having problems is a problem.”
I do still have moments where I feel anxious, I do still have to battle with depressive moments, (which is really all depression is), and I do still get stressed out every time life decides to kick me in the nuts, but there's also things that I don't do, and one of the things that I won't do, is allow those feelings to become any more than a moment and evolve into a habit.
Here's the secret… If you can work on yourself, either physically or intellectually, every single day of your life, you will not only go to bet with satisfaction, but you will wake every day with a clean slate, excited and ready to take on the new day.
But this will only come from within.
See you are the only person who can pick you back up. Yes people can inspire and motivate you to make changes, but you are the only one who can plan and then implement those changes into existence. And this will only ever happen IF you can find your passion. That spark of empowering joy hidden behind that vision of the Legend that you can potentially become, should you start taking the steps necessary in order to get you there. Once you know your passion, then you will have what it takes to tackle every day on a mission. To push you through the day and into the next day, and keep you moving forward until you're eventually out of the hole and onto the rocky, yet rewarding slope called progression.
There is no external factor responsible for deciding as to what level of awesome you are going to achieve in your own life, but one thing is for certain, if you don't wish for it to happen, it never will.
Life is going to be a challenge, and it's going to continuously test your character, test your will, your determination and your mental fortitude. This is your life and you have a choice. You can either shy away from the challenge that is growth, sending you backwards to face more potentially life threatening and dis empowering challenges later down the track, filled with misery and regret, or you can decide to stand up and start dominating your challenges. The catch is that the more awesome you become, the bigger your challenges will become, but these are a higher class of challenges that will have you empowered and advancing in your physical and mental resilience, and that's powerful.
So take up the challenge and Fight.
Fight through your depressive moments, fight through your anxieties, fight through all of the stresses and nay sayers that are going to pop up with there negative mindsets and uncomfortable circumstances, but most importantly, when you get kicked to your knees, STAND UP AND FIGHT BACK!
“The pain you feel today, will be the strength you feel tomorrow. For every challenge encountered, there is opportunity for Growth!” ~ Ritu Ghatourey
